I am new at needle tatting so did not know what to expect. This needle is easy to use, and the #10 mercerized cotton thread slides through the eye with only a little coaxing; I do not need to use a threader to pass it through. Needle is also sturdy enough for a neophyte tatter to hold tight without bending or snapping (I tended to grasp on tight while learning).
