The pattern on the face is offset rows of sunken points (The tools are marked “S” accordingly). These are a must have for tiny finish matting on any chasing pattern. In the victorian silver era, silversmithing and goldsmithing ateliers employed teams of chasers who chased the most carefully detailed presentation silver and gold ever made, using tools exactly like these. The texture is so miniscule, its tough to see it without magnificaton *These tool types have always been made exactly the same way. Quantity was never in the picture. Echoing from the past, they are all still slowly handmade at the bench, trademarked, heat treated, polished, and packaged right here at Nechamkin Silver Studios by me, Liza Nechamkin.
