Distress Techniques: Sprays & Mediums – Online Class

$27 $36.99
** Note: The LIVE portion has already taken place. Class resources are available. A replay of the class videos, group participation, coloring guides, and handouts **   Although it is not required, it is highly recommended that you have taken Jenn’s Distress Ink Techniques class which went over many things including the differences between Distress Ink and Distress Oxide, we will be using this information learned and building on that in this class. Distress Inks came into the papercrafting world in 2004. I started using them immediately, I still even have some of my original ink pads. The world of Distress has grown over the years with new and inspiring supplies. My goal with these technique classes is to teach you the fundamentals about the medium and inspire you to use them in your creative projects. I use some form of Distress on approx 80% of my creations. I guess you can say I am addicted to Distress!  This class is sharing with you things I have learned, and my experiences with Distress Spray Stains and Distress Oxide Sprays. We will also be exploring some of the mediums in the Distress line. What I hope you will get from this class is a better understanding of these supplies. I hope you will be inspired to play more, and be happy with your results! I have taken many classes with Tim Holtz, and Ranger Ink over the years resulting in a lot of learning. I am also a Tim Holtz Maker and create projects with his various products resulting in a lot of experimenting. I hope you will find my knowledge helpful, informative, and inspiring. This class is for anyone who would like to learn more about Distress Spray Stains, Distress Oxide Sprays and Distress Mediums. All of the class videos will be available in the private Facebook group. If you can’t attend the class LIVE you can watch the videos whenever it is convenient for you. Please note it may take time to be approved into the Facebook group as this is a manual process that is done by Jenn. Also included in the class: downloadable supply list See the class supply list below, and supplies are linked at the bottom of this page class prep information extensive handout with images of many examples of what you will be learning bonus card designs Some feedback from previous class attendees: Order class supplies Jenn does not ship kits for this class, so there are some supplies you should have on hand. All supplies linked at the bottom At least 3 Distress Spray Stains and/or 3 Distress Oxide Sprays. See the specific colors Jenn will be using below, but use the colors YOU love. You can get away with just one kind of Distress spray, Jenn will be comparing and showing techniques with both, you can always purchase some after class and practice the techniques if you like what is shown in class. Distress Mixed Media Heavystock and Distress Kraft Heavystock – you can use different surfaces, but you will get different results. Jenn highly recommends these and will go over their advantages in class. She recommends having at least 40- 4.25″ X 5.5″ sheets of BOTH- we are going to be playing and making A LOT of backgrounds. Purchasing one package of each will work. Distress Mediums. See the specific mediums Jenn will be using below in the visual supply list, but you do not need to have all of these, use what you have, and see which ones intrigue/inspire you after class. Variety of stencils. See the specific stencils Jenn will be using below in the visual supply list, but use the stencils YOU love. Water Mister Spray Bottle – Jenn recommends the Distress Sprayer Mister Bottle filled with Isopropyl alcohol for a quick clean up of inky stencils Heat Tool – Jenn recommends the Ranger Heat Tool and not an embossing gun Flour Sack Cloth paper towels A sheet of acetate/transparency – you can use plastic from stamp packaging A non-porous surface to work on – Jenn recommends the Tim Holtz/Tonic Glass Mat so you have glass, and a craft sheet to work on, but just a craft sheet will work as well. container for water that will hold your stencils apron, and wear your “paint” clothes Optional Supplies- These items are not required to complete the class Distress Foundry SPLAT box, or contained area to spray in gloves if you don’t want to get inky How this will work: Once you have purchased this online class, you can access the class resource page by logging into your account www.shurkus.com/my-account , choosing “classes & events” and then choosing this class.
